On September 28, 2024, the Central Valley Training Center in Selma, California, held a graduation ceremony for 17 students who successfully completed their training program. Assemblymember Juan Carrillo, the keynote speaker, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the significance of skilled labor in shaping California’s future. Representatives from local and regional organizations, including the City of Selma, the California High-Speed Rail Authority, the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation, the California Transportation Commission, and the Fresno, Madera, Kings & Tulare Building Trades Council, also provided remarks.
Each graduate was recognized for their achievements with a number of industry-recognized credentials and congratulatory messages from local elected officials. The event showcased the strong community and regional support for workforce development initiatives, particularly those related to the California High-Speed Rail project and other infrastructure endeavors. Earlier in the week, the graduates participated in a job fair with seven businesses including High-Speed Rail contractors.
