Our Impact

Good Jobs Central Valley partners have already secured over $5 million in additional state funding to provide additional training opportunities and address key barriers to success in training and employment. Efforts continue to secure additional funding to add new opportunities and services while sustaining the project for the long run. This historic collaboration has already demonstrated success in tackling poverty, unemployment, underemployment, and barriers to accessing high-quality careers.

About the EDA’s Good Jobs Challenge

The U.S. Economic Development Association’s Good Jobs Challenge is a federal initiative aimed at strengthening regional economies and providing high-quality job opportunities for American workers.

It focuses on building partnerships between businesses, educational institutions, and workforce training organizations to address skill gaps and increase job placement rates.

There were 32 awardees who received funding from the grant in the first round, including Fresno County Economic Development Corporation, which received $23M.
